Demasa

Demasa is a member of the GRUMA group from Mexico, indisputable leader in the world tortilla and corn flour market. Currently, GRUMA has operations in the United States, Europe, Mexico, Central America, Venezuela, Australia, Italy, the Netherlands and will soon be in China and Russia.

26 years ago, Gruma decided to enter the hearts of palm industry. During that period and today, we have been and are concerned with continuing research in this field. Each year we find opportunities for technological, agricultural and industrial improvements. That is why you can enjoy an increasing fresh, succulent, and sophisticated product.

Our people continue to be the pillar for developing an agricultural industry that generates 600 direct jobs and more than 2,000 indirect jobs. Therefore, for our company and each one of us working in this business, it is an enormous responsibility to make the adventure that began more than two decades ago continue to develop and create jobs in the less favored parts of Costa Rica.

We have two production plants, in Costa Rica and Ecuador. Thanks to these two plants, Demasa has a production potential of 2,000,000 standard cartons per year (more than 45% of the world market).

Improvements continue and the research into new agricultural and industrial technologies continues to be the pivot point underlying developing the business and the quality, productivity, and satisfaction that our customers and consumers feel.

These productivity and improvement programs have helped us to achieve such a delicate and exquisite product becoming a product that is within the reach of most of the people in the countries we serve. Thanks to all this, the hearts of palm market is in ongoing expansion.
