Our Process

Cultivated hearts of palm development began in 1978 since the way wild hearts of palm were harvested was not sustainable. At that point, we began work on agricultural and industrial development. The processes, equipment, and production and agricultural systems have evolved since then based on our systems of improvement, thanks to the creativity and motivation of our people.

Currently, we have the most modern production plant and every day we are adding something new to the production processes.

It all begins in the field. Cutting in the ideal form and at the ideal time is important to achieve the freshness and flavor that characterizes Demasa hearts of palm. That is why we have dedicated time to developing systems to make it possible for the palms reaching the plant to maintain their freshness.

Our heating systems are certified by the FDA (the US Food & Drug Administration) and are endorsed by our European certifiers.

We are certified as ISO 9001 2000 and our SGS certifier has rated us for two years as having zero exceptions. We are also certified kosher.

Our packaging systems are operated using the highest safety and hygiene norms by highly qualified personnel.

Product packing and handling are done by automated systems for efficient, careful control.

Our traceability system has been carefully established with records kept by an electronic system that makes it possible for us to follow up on each lot quickly and effectively.

We are continuing with work on perfecting our processes so we can maintain the lead in this novel hearts of palm business.
