Our agricultural production system is environmentally friendly because it uses techniques avoiding pesticides, it keeps the soil fertile by adding back organic material, we replenish eroded soils, and since the hearts of palm plantations are perennial, they extract CO2 from the atmosphere.

The plantation’s technological development has been achieved based on the ongoing work by our employees. In addition to defining the variety of palm to use (Bactris gasipaes), we work on defining: planting density, stump management, soil conservation and improvement, fertilization, weed control, harvest management, micro-elements, etc.

The farmers are our partners and companions in this adventure so any agricultural research developed on our farm is continuously passed on to them through our “Hearts of Palm Club.”

The Hearts of Palm Club is a work system integrated into the production chain that seeks to bring everyone together to be able to strengthen the production system. This way, we can make major advances by involving providers, banks, the government, universities, farmers, and companies. This union makes it possible to strengthen the production system and achieve savings because of the scale of the supply, providing greater security for bank financing, and enabling universities and the government to comply with their development mission. Demasa functions as a promoter of improvement, purchasing the raw material, marketing it, and serving as a liaison among the different parties.

The ongoing research into improvements for new agricultural and industrial technologies continues to be the pivot point underlying developing the business and the quality, productivity, and satisfaction that our customers and consumers feel.
